Nalanda University invites applications from exceptionally qualified and motivated scholars for engagement as Post-Doctoral Fellows (PDFs) in its various Schools and Departments. The Fellowship aims to promote high-quality research, interdisciplinary scholarship, and academic excellence in areas aligned with the University's vision and research priorities.
The selected Post-Doctoral Fellows shall be affiliated with the respective Schools/Departments and shall undertake research in close coordination with the University's Research and Academic Centres.
1. Schools and Departments: Applications are invited from scholars whose research interests align with the academic domains of the following Schools: School of Buddhist Studies, Philosophy and Comparative Religions – Department of Hindu Studies, Department of Philosophy, and Department of Buddhist Studies; School of Historical Studies – Department of Historical Studies and Department of Archaeology; School of Ecology and Environmental Studies; School of Sustainable Development and Management; School of Languages and Literature/ Humanities – Department of Economics, Department of Mathematics, and Department of Hindi; School of International Relations and Peace Studies.
2. Research and Academic Centres: The selected Fellows may be associated with one or more of the following Centres, depending upon the nature of their research and the requirements of the University: Kautilya Global Centre for State Capacity, Centre for Studies in Development and Sustainability, Centre for South East Asian Studies, Centre for Bay of Bengal Studies, Centre for Rural Economy and Sustainable Transformation.
Fellowship and Support: Fellowship Amount: ₹75,000/- (Rupees Seventy-Five Thousand only) per month. Contingency Grant: Rs.50,000/- per annum. Access to the University's academic, library, and research facilities. Opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration with faculty members, Schools, and Research Centres. Medical facilities as per university norms. Accommodation in the Residential Halls and Dining on payment basis, subject to availability and as per University norms.
Duration: The Fellowship shall initially be offered for a period of one year, extendable for a further period of one year based on satisfactory performance, availability of funds, and recommendations of the concerned School/Centre.
