The Thai SDG Primer aims to help students gain the knowledge, values, and skills to achieve sustainable development in all contexts via new innovative means, through a local SDG Primer e-learning platform, the

"Thai SDG Primer".

In a global first, a local SDG Primer has been developed for Thailand and is now available in both English and Thai, showcasing the SDGs contextualizing them to the Thai context in an easy-to-learn and digestible format that can accessed online through multiple mediums including social media. It presents an online SDGs learning journey to inspire and reach learners in higher education and university-level (and above) students, providing them with a useful

lens through which they can understand the most pressing global issues and find solutions in a holistic, integrated, inter-related, and inter-dependent manner.

The Thai SDG Primer will officially be launched at the Sustainability Expo 2023 in Bangkok, Thailand on 5 October 2023, with a symbolic ceremony open to public participation.

Centre for Studies in Science Policy
Jawaharlal Nehru University

CSSP Wednesday Lecture Series

Invites you to a Lecture on

"Science Diplomacy for South Asian Countries: Insights and Breakthroughs"

By

Dr. Malti Goel

(Emeritus Scientist, CSIR, New Delhi)

Discussants: Prof. Pranav N. Desai; Prof. Madhav Govind

Venue: Room No. 225, 2nd Floor, CSSP, SSS-1 Building, JNU, New Delhi

Date: Wednesday, 20th September 2023 | Time: 3:30 pm

Abstract: This Lecture is based on a book titled "Science Diplomacy for South Asian Countries: Insights and Breakthroughs", written by Dr. Malti Goel, and published by Springer-Nature in 2021. This book provides a science diplomacy outlook as a new governance tool in international cooperation. It elaborates on India's current S&T collaboration with Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and science policy and science diplomacy in India. The book introduces concepts and contours of science diplomacy with international examples. It presents insights into international governance models, mega-science projects, and science diplomacy's role in addressing global climate change and sustainable development challenges. The book is a valuable reference to spark breakthroughs in India's science diplomacy with its neighbouring countries for scientists, diplomats, policymakers, government, and non-government institutions interested in science and diplomacy.

All are welcome to attend the Lecture.
