| | | SAVE THE DATE | | UNESCO and Prada Group to launch new partnership for ocean literacy and preservation | | Paris, 22 June – During the General Assembly of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO, Prada Group and UNESCO will announce an extended educational partnership dedicated to the dissemination of ocean literacy principles and to ocean preservation. | | Press event Tuesday 27 June 2023, 13:30 PM UNESCO Headquarters, Paris Please register here. | | UNESCO high representatives will be joined by Lorenzo Bertelli, Prada Group Head of CSR, and prominent personalities committed to protecting the ocean including Maya Gabeira, surfer and UNESCO Champion for the Ocean and Youth. Prada Group will announce increased financial support to UNESCO for ocean education. This new partnership will reinforce the dissemination of ocean literacy through several initiatives under the umbrella of SEA BEYOND, a joint educational programme that has been raising awareness on ocean preservation since 2019. SEA BEYOND achievements so far - Training over 600 secondary school students in ocean literacy across Brazil, China, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Portugal, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
- Empowering students to freely interpret one of the ten challenges of the Ocean Decade though text, graphics, or interactive content. Winning projects were awarded during the UN Ocean Conference 2022.
- Enrolling over 120 preschool children into the "Kindergarten of the Lagoon", an outdoor educational program in Venice.
- Strengthening understanding of ocean literacy for Prada Group's over 14,000 employees across more than 70 countries.
