The Indian National Science Academy (INSA) is pleased to announce the INSA Distinguished Public Lecture on 'Transforming the S&T Landscape towards Viksit Bharat.' The lecture is a part of INSA's ongoing endeavors with a focus on engaging discussions on science, technology and innovation relative to development.
This lecture will be delivered by Prof. Abhay Karandikar, Secretary, Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. Prof. Karandikar will present his outlook on the developing trends in the science and technology ecosystem in India, the policies that are emerging, and the importance of innovation, talent and research institutions to realize the vision of a developed and self-sufficient country. The lecture session will be conducted on 07 January 2026 from 03:00 PM IST onwards at the INSA Auditorium. All researchers, academicians and students with an interest in understanding the role of science and technology in transforming society would be free to attend this session. INSA cordially invites the scientific community at large to be a part of this prestigious lecture and participate in thought-provoking conversations about how India would like to shape its future scientific and technological environment.
