Water crises threaten world peace more than ever (UNESCO and UN-Water report)

 

UNESCO is hosting online press briefings ahead of the official launch of the annual United Nations World Water Development Report.

UNESCO's editor-in-chief of the report, Richard Connor, will present the key findings, provide specific case studies and respond to questions from the press. These conferences will offer journalists an early opportunity to collect useful information on the  this topic, and learn how the report impacts their specific region and audience.The World Water Development Report 2024 will be officially presented at UNESCO on 22 March, coinciding with World Water Day.

 

The United Nations World Water Development Report is published by UNESCO on behalf of UN-Water and its production is coordinated by the UNESCO World Water Assessment Programme. The report gives insight into the main trends concerning the state, use and management of freshwater and sanitation.

 

It provides decision-makers with knowledge and tools to formulate and implement sustainable water policies. It also offers best practice examples and in-depth analyses to stimulate ideas and actions for better stewardship in the water sector and beyond.
