The Health Factor: A Seminar on Health Communication, Misinformation & Media Representations

At a time when an "infodemic" relating to health issues is deluging society, sometimes with fatal consequences, this seminar seeks to look for answers. The seminar explores how media, particularly social media, is creating and sustaining misinformation relating to diseases such as cancer, mental health and other health issues with adverse consequences. The seminar also touches upon how health issues are covered in the media and the scope for improvement in this regard.

Session 3 (2 pm to 3:15 pm): Combating Myths Around Mental Health
Session 4 (3:30 pm to 4:45 pm): Media Representations of Health Issues
