Dear Colleagues,
Warm greetings from Bangkok and I hope all are healthy and well.
On behalf of the Secretariat at UNESCO, below is a message from Libing Wang about upcoming Convention related events in 2020:
- Save-the-dates: With generous support from Japan, we are pleased to confirm the dates for the 3rd Session of the Tokyo Convention Committee and 1st APNNIC Plenary in Kanazawa, Japan from 7-9 October 2020. This important Committee Session will be held in conjunction with the ASEAN+3 Rectors Conference, which should make this a highly visible and valuable opportunity. Please save the dates. We look forward to working closely with National Commissions for UNESCO for nominations together with our partners at MEXT, NIAD-QE and Kanazawa University. Letters to request nominations from each country will be shared later this year. UNESCO's resources for international travel are limited, so please plan accordingly if your delegation would like to join the events.
- APNNIC workshop: In close collaboration with MEXT and NIAD-QE, we are also pleased to join the First APNNIC Workshop from 9-12 March 2020 in Japan. If you have questions about this excellent workshop and meetup for APNNIC members, please let us know.
Mr. Libing Wang, Chief of Section will be focal point for the 3rd Session with UNESCO colleagues supporting:
- Ms. Sunny Yi, Programme Specialist (yj.yi@unesco.org) our special guest Secondee from KMOE who will be supporting APNNIC, including development of the new portal
- Mr. Wesley Teter, Senior Consultant (wr.teter@unesco.org) who will be coordinating for the 3rd Session and our work plans for higher education
We look forward to your updates throughout the year!
Yours sincerely,
Libing Wang
