A conversation on Emerging Technologies and the International Order | 3rd September at ORF

Greetings from the Observer Research Foundation!

You are cordially invited to a conversation on Emerging Technologies and The International Order, between Ambassador Tobias Feakin, Australia's Ambassador for Cyber Affairs and Dr. Samir Saran, President, ORF. It will be held at the ORF Conference Hall, New Delhi on 3rd September from 11.00 AM-12.30 PM, followed by lunch.

Event description:

Rapid advances in emerging technologies are implicating the international balance of power in complex and uncertain ways. Managing tensions fueled by new technologies will require governments to anticipate risks to domestic institutions and processes, adapt to changes in military strategies and postures, develop international law and norms, and prevent disputes on trade and investment. However, the onset of a multipolar world will make this endeavour more challenging, as states and business engage in a zero sum race to monopolise the strategic benefits of emerging technologies.

In this context, Ambassador Tobias Feakin and Dr. Samir Saran will offer their perspectives on how emerging technologies will implicate the international order and will also outline a roadmap for Australia-India cooperation in this field.
