Ten Days Workshop on Research Methodology in Social Sciences for PhD Research Scholars

The Centre for Studies in Society and Development, School of Social Sciences, Central University of Gujarat is organizing a Ten Day Research Methodology Workshop in Social Sciences (in English) for PhD research scholars belonging to SC category. Applications are also invited from ST/OBC/minority categories and women research scholars. However, their application will be considered only if required SC research scholars are not available. The training course is sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi. Research scholars from Gujarat and neighboring states will be preferred. The objective of the workshop is to build/enhance the research capacities of the scholars, covering the various aspects of research methodology in the disciplines of Social Sciences.

Registered/enrolled Ph.D. research scholars from any Indian university/college/institutes in any branch of Social Sciences are eligible to apply on the prescribed application form. MPhil students and faculty members are not eligible for this programme. Selection of the candidates for the workshop will be based on (1) the strength of their research proposals (250 words in English) (2) stage of research (pre-data collection/fieldwork phase) and (3) first time applicants for Research Methodology/similar workshops. Desirous candidates can send a filled in soft copy of application form, brief C.V and research proposal along with other required documents to the Course Director at cssdworkshop@gmail.com on or before July 1, 2015. Accommodation will be provided to outstation participants only. Reimbursement of travel expenses for outstation candidates will be made for the shortest distance (government bus or second class sleeper train fare) as per the ICSSR guidelines.
