Call for Papers
The India China Institute at The New School, New York and Panjab University, Chandigarh, India, in collaboration with the Centre for Policy Research, New Delhi, University of Delhi and Jawaharlal Nehru University, invite abstract submissions for the Fourth Annual Interdisciplinary Symposium For Emerging Scholars on India China Studies. The symposium will be held on 19-20 December 2014 at Panjab University, Chandigarh, India.
ELIGIBILITY
Researchers pursuing an advanced degree (MPhil/PhD) and young scholars who have been awarded their PhDs within the last five years are invited to send in their proposals. Advanced Master's degree students from professional fields such as law, design, and architecture are also welcome to apply. The call for papers is open only to Indian citizens based in India and abroad.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Interested candidates are invited to send an abstract not exceeding 1,000 words by 30 September 2014. The proposal should clearly state the paper's key research questions, its theoretical framework and the theme's overall relevance to the applicant's ongoing research work. Papers with a strong analytical focus on India-China interactions, comparisons, and impact will be given preference. The proposal should clearly mention the name, current affiliation, and contact information of the applicant. Only original unpublished papers will be given preference. 10 selected scholars will be notified through email by 15 October, 2014.
DEADLINES
- Submission of paper proposals (maximum 1,000 words) : 30 September 2014
- Notifi cation of selected proposals : 15 October 2014
- Final Paper submissions (maximum 6,000 words) : 30 November 2014
