UNESCO stands at the forefront of tsunami resilience, leading initiatives in three critical areas: preparing coastal communities through the Tsunami Ready program, developing rapid warning systems for timely alerts, and advancing scientific knowledge of tsunamis. These efforts aim to protect the more than 700 million people living in vulnerable coastal zones and ensure communities are equipped to respond when it matters most. | | Learn more | | Press contact | François WIBAUX, f.wibaux@unesco.org, +33 (0)1 45 68 07 46 | | UNESCO Newsroom | All our press releases | | Social media | | | | | | | |
